Marian, Inc. Announces New President
A smooth and coordinated succession plan is integral to continued strength of all organizations and perhaps more so for a family-owned business. The Witchger family takes great care to ensure our leadership is set for a bright and prosperous future, and this holds true with the announcement of Marian, Inc’s new President, William Witchger.
Gene Witchger Passes the Torch
Since 2012, Gene Witchger has served as the President of Marian, Inc. After 5 years at the helm, Gene passes the reigns to his cousin, William Witchger, in May 2017.
Gene joined Marian in 1994 and will continue to support the Marian team and our customers. Now that he’s stepping down as president, he’ll primarily focus on key customer driven projects and will act as a leader for our engineering teams, guiding them in process development. As a result, his transition with William will be ongoing and without interruption.
As President, Gene was an extremely focused and tireless leader, respected by customers and loved by employees. In his new role, Gene hopes to spend more time with his family and continue to volunteer.
Meet Marian, Inc.’s New President, William Witchger II
William Witchger, son of Marian Chairman Bill Witchger, has been Vice President of Operations at Marian, Inc. since returning from China in 2012. William moved to Shenzhen China in 2009 to assist with the beginning of the location’s manufacturing operations. Under his leadership, our Shenzhen operation grew from 1 employee (him) to more than 1,800 by the time he returned to the US.
William graduated from Notre Dame University and worked for IBM in Chicago. Following IMB, he worked for a startup company, Endeca, that was then acquired by Oracle. William then joined Marian in 2008 as Manager of IT and Business Development. He has been exposed to many areas of our business and is well equipped to continue growing Marian.
Gene has provided leadership with strong business ethics, integrity in every decision, respect for all employees, and tireless efforts on behalf of our customers. William brings these same qualities to the task with renewed energy and eagerness to see our businesses continue to grow significantly around the world.
Along with Brian Witchger as Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing, Marian is fortunate to have the next generation of leadership so well prepared to move our company forward.
