Marian Employees Give Thanks, and Give Back
Marian employees celebrate Thanksgiving by gathering as a “family” to enjoy food and give thanks for all of our blessings. Our employees also spend time giving back to the communities where we live and work. Both are an important part of our company culture.
How our Marian Employees are Giving Back Across the Country
Marian Milwaukee employees collected over 900 items and raised $2,000 for the Milwaukee Hunger Task Force, a leading free and local food bank.
A group of Marian Chicago Employees volunteer at the Northern Illinois Food Bank each month. Last month, employees helped by re-packaging frozen food into meal kits. Employees enjoy giving back to the community and the camaraderie this monthly volunteer opportunity provides for their team.
Giving Thanks
Every year, Marian Indianapolis employees gather to give thanks by holding a Thanksgiving Employee Pitch-in Luncheon. This year, the leadership team grilled and fried turkeys (26 to be exact!). Each employee brought in a homemade dish to share. This has become a wonderful way for employees to share their culture, background, and family history. Some favorite dishes included egg-rolls, spanakopita, tamales, warm potato salad, greens, sweet potato pie, and cheese cake – among many others!
It makes for quite a unique Thanksgiving meal and a very enjoyable tradition.
This year, Marian Mexico employees gathered for a Thanksgiving meal at a local restaurant. Prior to eating, employees said a prayer and expressed what they were thankful for this year at Marian, followed by a speech from the President of Marian Mexico, David Connelly. Employees enjoyed the meal and the opportunity to reflect on their blessings.
